Occupational Therapists, OT's, are state licensed therapists who customize intervention to improve a patient's ability to complete daily activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, cooking, etc. Therapy focuses on helping patients who are recovering from injury or experiencing physical and cognitive changes regain skills in these areas.
Examples of Occupational Therapy services:
Teaching techniques to complete activities of daily living for patients experiencing loss of function in their arms and/or legs.
Teaching energy conservation techniques.
Home evaluations to recommend modifications to keep patients safe when bathing/showering, grooming and dressing.
Training to use adaptive devices that increase success of completion of daily tasks within the home.
