Physical Therapists, PT's, are state licensed therapists who evaluate a patient's condition and develop a treatment plan using techniques to promote the ability to move, walk, restore function and reduce pain. Therapy focuses on helping patients return to their previous functional activity; PT's teach patients and families how to prevent or manage their condition for optimal safety and long-term maintenance in their home environment. 

Examples of Physical Therapy services:

• Gait training to help patients move and walk safely in their home environment.
• Training to use an assistive device such as a cane, walker or wheelchair for increased safety.
• Establish a Home Exercise Program to improve strength and endurance.
• Home evaluations to recommend adjustments to keep patients safe when moving within their home.
